Privacy and data handling

Last updated 29 October 2026

ReelPlan helps marketers plan Instagram reels for their clients. This policy explains how client information is used in the design-partner service.

What we store

We store names, email addresses, team memberships, workspace details, password hashes and session records; client names, Instagram account identifiers, city and niche; brand and shoot briefs; consent confirmations; and Instagram content and performance insights supplied through the official API or CSV uploads. We also store import reports, generated plans and scripts, proposed edits, saved versions and export snapshots. Instagram access tokens are encrypted at rest.

How information is used

The client's Instagram content and insights are stored by ReelPlan and processed by Google's Gemini API to generate plans. Briefs and other planning inputs may also be sent to that API to generate and revise ideas and scripts. Our hosting and database providers process information to operate the service. ReelPlan does not automatically publish to Instagram.

Consent and access

Client consent must be recorded before connecting Instagram or importing CSV data. An owner can accept through a private consent link, or a marketer can record their confirmation, including consent given verbally on a call. Client records are limited to their workspace. A session cookie is used to keep the workspace signed in.

Retention

Client information is retained while the client record is kept in the workspace. Removing a client deletes that client's tokens, content, insights, briefs, imports, plans, scripts, versions and export snapshots from the active database. Disconnecting Instagram removes access tokens but keeps existing planning data until deletion is requested.

Deletion confirmations retain only a hashed confirmation code and completion time, without a client name or Instagram identifier. Hosting-provider backups and processor records may follow separate retention schedules; contact us about those schedules and any additional erasure request. Copies of exports already downloaded or shared by a marketer are outside ReelPlan's control.

Request deletion or disconnect

Ask your workspace marketer to remove your client record, or request data deletion through Meta's connected-app controls. Meta deletion requests are verified before client data is deleted, and a private confirmation link reports completion. To remove ReelPlan's Instagram access, open Instagram Settings, then Website permissions or App website permissions, then Apps and websites; choose ReelPlan under Active and remove it. Labels may vary by app version.
